1. Know the hazard: Classify commodities, storage heights, racking, and any special risks (lithium-ion, aerosols, flammables).

2. Segregate & limit: Separate incompatibles, cap pile/rack sizes, maintain firebreaks and roof/sprinkler clearances.

3. Protection ready: Sprinklers/Foam matched to hazard, Hydrants/Hosereels accessible, Detection and Alarm system functional, ITM (Inspection Testing Maintenance is up to date.

4. Housekeeping: Clear aisles/exits, remove waste/pallet build-up, control dust, keep fire doors operable.

5. Electrical & charging: Rated equipment, no socket overloading, compliant EV/PIT charging bays with ventilation and clearances.

6. Ignition control: Hot-work permit system, smoking controls, manage sparks/static/vehicle exhausts.

People & plan: Trained staff, posted Emergency Action Plan, regular drills.
